Skye Heart Sound FAQs - Your Questions Answered

Why should I choose you over another mix engineer?

I believe that there are a lot of great mixing engineers out there, and a lot of them can deliver your artistic goals. I believe that you should choose the best mixing engineer that can you vibe with, understand your goals, and has the knowledge and equipment to achieve those! I used to be a singer in an R&B/Pop group for many years, and I feel I would be the best option for an artist that wants an engineer that understands the importance of vocals more than anyone! I believe a hit song is nothing, without captivating vocals behind it.

How can I ensure I’ll be happy with the mix?

For starters, I’m trying out for the first time, the “100% Money Back Guarantee”! But also, I like to put a lot of emphasis on having collaborative conversations about your project, your sound and artistic goals. It’s important for me to know these about you and your project so I know the direction I’m headed before I even move a fader or turn a knob. A mix can sound an infinite number of ways, and one way is not necessarily better than the other. BUT, its your artistic vision that will guide us to the CORRECT mix for YOUR project.

Do my projects and recordings need to be done at the high fidelity as well? My CPU can’t handle the file size and the processing power?!

As much as I believe in high fidelity, you DO NOT need to produce or record at that level. It slows down your efficiency and can crash your computer. Recording and producing at the industry standard 24bit-44.1khz is just fine. When I receive your project, I will upsample your files to high fidelity, and work from there!

    What is high fidelity mixing?

The ‘industry standard’ for music is mixing at 24bit, 44.1khz. High-Fidelity is mixing at 32bit – 192khz. The audio resolution is much higher than the standard! The reason why it is not used all around is due to storage space, CPU optimization, work efficiency, and some engineers believe it is not beneficial to the end result.

I’m already working with a producer who is also going to mix my project. How will this work?

If you would like me to mix your project, that is an artistic direction that must be honored. At this point, it is a business-logistical conversation that me and your producer will have to discuss. Your producer and I will have a conversation on how we will handle the split of funding, the producer’s music goals and your artistic goals, and the transfer of audio to me. Contact me, and I’d be happy to discuss further and make this as seamless as possible.

How does the 100% Money back guarantee work?

After 5 revisions that are not within your satisfaction, I will allow a money back guarantee for my work if you request it. Each mix will be sent with an audio soundbite baked into the song. After your final approval, I will remove the soundbite, and the money back guarantee will be permanently waived from your project.
